About Me
My Philosophy
At 20 years old, I am considerably young when it comes to the birth business. I personally believe that my young age helps me to bring a fresh and unbiased view to my work, as I do not have children of my own and only base my work off of my experience with others. My interest in childbirth began my freshmen year of high school, when I was mistakenly placed in a child development class. From this point on, my passion for childbirth would lead me to chose a profession in the most rewarding field there is. I am enthusiastic and appreciative to meet new women and attend them in their birth experience. I believe I bring a sense of calm, security, and joy to those I am lucky enough to serve.
About Me
I grew up in Flint Township, Michigan in a very large, close-knit family. After discovering my passion for childbirth at age 14 in 2008, I assisted my 16 year old cousin in the birth of her first child in 2010. This experience got me interested in the doula work and I began my DONA certification in 2012 shortly after graduating high school. I moved to Fort Lewis, Washington in August 2013 with my husband, a soldier in the United States Army. I plan to continue my doula work and soon begin school to become a certified nurse midwife.
Education:
Birth Doula Education Workshop, August 2012
Lactation Workshop, October 2012
